Hey!! I’m Jacqueline Smith (no, not Charlie’s Angel lol) and I am an accountant and financial literacy coach.

I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the unsinkable Albany State University, a master’s degree from University of Phoenix, and 10+ years of experience in accounting. Majority of my background is in bookkeeping and auditing.

When I am not being your favorite accountant, I am enjoying life with my soon-to-be husband and our beautiful children.

Born and raised in Georgia, I grew up in a single-parent household with my mother and two brothers. Financial management was instilled in me and my brothers at a young age. My mother taught us the importance of budgeting and saving.

I was also exposed to entrepreneurship at an early age as both my grandmother and grandfather were entrepreneurs. Seeing the freedom they had as entrepreneurs motivated me to one day become an entrepreneur myself.

My mother encouraged me to go to college so that I could find a good job and be a responsible adult. I obliged and soon after graduation I secured a bookkeeping job and began my career. Throughout my career I have created and implemented accounting policies and procedures, produced monthly and annual financial reports, performed compliance audits, and trained upper management on finance related topics. I have also been a speaker at the Association of Local Government Auditors annual conference.

Knowing so many aspiring and established entrepreneurs, I noticed that a lot of them either did not understand the importance of bookkeeping or they just did not take the time to organize their financial records. This knowledge, coupled with my desire to start my own business, led me to start J&R Financial. I co-founded this company with my mother in 2017. â€‹
